A Clockwork Orange – New to Blu
One of the strangest and most disturbing films of all time comes to Blu-Ray.
The 40th Anniversary Edition is out today.
It’s a spruced up version of the classic film.
Adapted by KUBRICK from the incredibly dense novel by ANTHONY BURGESS, the film stars MALCOLM McDOWELL as a hedonistic gang leader who is as despicable as he is likable. Arguably one of KUBRICK’S greatest achievements, the film continues to be thought provoking and has stood the test of time. Included with this release is an entertaining commentary track with McDOWELL and film historian NICK REDMAN, a “making of” featurette, and two feature-length documentaries.

GREAT film, but not a good First Date Film. Trust me on this one…
Fav director
GREAT MOVIE when I was in High School one of my classes made it mandatory to attend Kathie
Matt, I saw this for the first time on a date in high school. Granted, not a first date, but my girlfriend picked it cause she loved it. I kinda miss that girl, lol
It scared me as a little kid…this movie and David Bowie scared me…oh and Jaws. Weird thing is I love the Clockwork, Bowie and Jaws now…like Eddie Vedder once said.. “All the bands I liked kind of scared me a little”
“I was cured, all right…”
The book is great too, however the ending is different. Which doesn’t surprise me because Kubrick was an ultra nihilist. Not much hope in his pictures.
