Contagion – Review

Our story starts out with Gwyneth Paltrow on the road traveling for business…and this is titled day 2.

Contagion is a thriller about a worst case scenario virus outbreak… and it’s directed by Steven Soderbergh.

Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Matt Damon and Laurence Fishburne all have major roles.

The acting is excellent across the board… especially by Damon.

He loses his wife and must now protect his daughter from the killer virus while also questioning truths uncovered about his marriage.

The movie is directed with a realistic approach.. it’s a play by play of what would really happen in this situation…some may think this is a little dull at times…but for me it made the story more interesting.

This type of situation can happen any day and watching how the government and people involved deal with making such huge choices is compelling.

There are a few storylines that seem unfinished and a bit off…Jude Law is a rebel online blogger that is trying to stir up trouble..he is good…but that part of the movie was a little odd.

I liked that they threw in some marital issues and a twist that has nothing to do with the virus story…is it random or is there a deeper meaning?

I will tell you this movie is not the shocking horror film the trailer and promos are selling it as.

But rather an in depth look at how something so simple and small can change everything overnight..

The Bottom Line..This is a good movie about how a dealy virus can take over the world….$$$..Do it..

Rated PG-13 1 hr 45 minutes
